Tonight is Lucian's Alexander or the False Prophet

• Alexander or the False Prophet is a biography by the ancient Greek writer Lucian of Samosata that exposes the fraudulent religious cult of Alexander of Abonouteichos. The work details how Alexander created a fake oracle for the snake-god Glycon to gain power, wealth, and followers. It is a vivid account of religious charlatanism and gullibility in the Roman Empire

Lucian says:
"There are people who use nonsense words. Stupidity they call Hebrew and Phoenician, and they do it to fuck with you. It clouds people."

These are academics, grammarians, people like Africanus. This is all happening at the same time.

What is a Lestes? He's going to show you. You know what they do? They go around fucking with your mind, telling you nonsense words that are Hebrew and Phoenician bullshit. (Repeating that translation from above).

This is an ancient author 2000 years ago telling us that.

What kind of words are these?
ἀσήμους - unintelligible. Babbling bullshit.

And they come from the ʽΕβραίων (Hebrews) or Φοινίκων (Phoenicians), which is no where to be seen, there are no libraries. The Masoretic text (900CE) is a shitty translation of the Greek (290BCE). Who's doing this? It's the Lestai. We have capital punishment against the Lestai. Crucifixion.

Who are these Lestai? Prophets. Saviors. Christers. And they love kids. Just like Jesus (with his little students).

People are using this made up Hebrew along with made up Phoenician. This is not a new act. Creating false history is an art. There are no authors from what you call the Torah and the Old Testament. They don't exist. None of them. Isiah? What century? Didn't exist. No records, no literature, no archaeological record. Surprise surprise. The lies. All from language.

What does this say?

This is the proclamation that we have to make in the cult of the Lestes: "If anyone who's an atheist, Christian, epicurean, has come here wanting to look at our rites, get the fuck out". Let them flee. This is what Alexander has determined for his people. Notice who it is that's intruding. Christians, atheists, and epicureans. What do they all have in common?

There's no Old Testament at all. None of those people exist. But what we do have is this. And it's real. And it says "Ares is the Lestes with the spear and the shield". How the hell is Ares the Lestes?

What hangs on the tree in the grove of Ares? The fleece upon which is written a song. What are all the early Greek lyric geeks doing? War songs. That ethos encompasses techne like music. Skill. What did the music give those war worshiping freaks? Marching songs that started to build their society.

Ares is the Lestes. He is the trafficker of souls. What are his implements in his trafficking of souls? They are his death givers. 5th century BCE. This vocab is already very well built. (And that's why the Septuagint overpowers anything that they came up with that they said was Hebrew. It is impossible for them to have constructed a language that was as complex to mother Greek. They didn't even get close.)

Where does it come from? He says it comes from the two terms ἀΐσσω verbs and ὁρμῶ. And the future form is
αΐξω Which when you take off the omega, what you have left is αἴξ, the word for goat. And goats are what, they're
ὁρμητικὸν (Hormetikon). We get our word hormone from this, impulsive, impetuous, unable to corral their impulses.

• πειρατὴς (Peirates) - is the Lestes of the sea

He was famous for what he did.
One of the people who lived in Tyana and understood his practices, ended up with Alexander.
These are very famous Lestes.
So famous that they're getting the attention of the governors.
There's an overlap of Cult and Government

In bold: Appolonius is with the Indian King, he's eating with him, asks "how did you learn to speak Greek so well and grasp our philosophy?"

This is an Indian King speaking perfect Greek with knowledge of Greek literature.
This is strange, right?
This is prophet wars, and Greek is kicking the backside of everyone.
Everyone knows the world is divided into Greeks and Barbarians.

This Indian king goes on to talk about the significant, he compares philosophers to Lestai.
He talks specifically about how they're punished (in bold)

Why is Lucian so hateful of the Lestai?

• Because of what they do to children.

What does Lucian tell us should be done to the Lestai?

This says: "the Lestai live a very frivolous lifestyle, just indulging in every license that they can"

• because they know that they are sitting under the weight of "their justice", recklessly
• e.g. going out to a public park with underage kids, like Jesus. That's dangerous living. There's going to be a crowd of people yelling KILL HIM!

Lucian would rather that these Lestai would be rounded up and put into a big public theater and fed to monkeys and foxes.

This is Lucian who has soldiers with him.
He is saying Alexander needs this punishment.
Alexander eventually dies from maggots in his leg, infection, then dead.

What do these people do?

• The mystery rite is being propagated by Alexander.
• He is using aphrodisiacs (ἀφροδισίοις) in order to achieve the mystery, to bring that oracular voice
• He is also a fraud, cheating people out of money, everything he's doing is for money, he's a swindler.

• He got to a point where he said "you know what, people want it, people have money, pay for it and I'll give it to you"
• Eventually a doctor came along who had very good knowledge of the drugs, associated directly with Appolonius, who himself was a leader of a cult (no different from Jesus, John the Baptist, etc).

Lestai, what do you do with them? They take advantage of everyone.

This is Lucian, and we're talking about Alexander the Lestes, false prophet.

Translating: "Alexander went around telling people not to engage in sex with children because it was not pious. But.... he himself made it possible to do it, because he requested from the priests in the cities of Pontus and Paphlagonia, he told them to send to him for 3 years, the kids who hymn the gods, the kids who are tested, the best ones who are most ripe. Tells everyone to leave the kids alone. Then tells the priests to send him boys.

This is a Lestes

Translate: "Alexander in his travels comes across a bunch of snakes. These snakes are Big, but Tame. They're nourished and cared for by women. They even sleep among the children. When they're stepped on, they dont get mad (that's how durable and big they are). They drink milk directly from the ladies."

There is a famous portrayal by Escalus, who was himself part of the familiy that kept the mysteries going. He has a scene in which the great drakaina, Klaidemnestra, murderer of Aggamemnon, where she is presented in a dream receiving a bit on her breast. And the bite causes the communion of blood, venom, and her milk. That's how it is presented in Eschalus's Libation Bearers. What part of the oracular mystery are we in here? We're in the communion.

Alexander sees these priestesses taking care of these snakes as a part of the oracular operation. He gets an idea that he could do what they're doing, but(!!!), get people to pay him. Lucian says that every question is paid for in Drachmai. He writes out bullshit and gives it to people, like a show.

Is Alexander running a brothel? YES. The brothel is the brothel. Nothing changes. It always takes someone who follows the gods to bring back the reality, to get rid of the lies, and everyone who welcomes those lies contributes. Showing the lie for what it is will free those people, they're in chains. They can be shown, They can be purified, They can be made free...

What is the whole focus of Alexander the False Prophet, who is the lestes?

The man who is what Jesus says that he isn't.
What is that man doing? He is making the mystery (τελετήν/teleten).
He is creating the rite.
And in that rite, he is becoming a hierophant (ἱεροφαντίας), he is teaching the art of the hierophant, that is the oracular.

When Paul says he's going to the 3rd heaven, he is using those specific powers of the hierophant.

A murderer, he even killed some kid, Alexander was a piece of work.

You've been living in a world where people have been saying for many many many centuries, a false history, based on a false language, a language that was falsified. Lucian was one who said that. In a greek speaking world, if you want to fool someone, you use nonsensical supposed Hebrew or Phonecian words to fool, if you're a Lestes, if you're bringing the voice of "god".
